Part-time Youth Services Librarian
SUMMARY
The Youth Services Librarian develops and delivers engaging programs and services to meet the needs of children, teens, young adults, and families

Essential Functions:
Provide excellent customer service to patrons
Develops, promotes, and implements a variety of programs and activities both inhouse and virtual to engage, children, teens and families
Responsible for organizing the children's, youth, and teen spaces
Selects and orders materials specific to children, youths, and teens
Stays up to date on trends in youth services librarianship
Organize and host events which include but are not limited to story times, author visits, summer reading programs, gaming events, etc.
Creation and update of webpage for children, teen, and families
Compiles statistics
Assisting children, teens, and families with the use of the library for information, which may include research, homework, technology, and book selection
Coordinate outreach with local community programs and schools which may include in person visits
May also assist with the daily operation of the library in the absence of Circulation Staff
Works under the direction of the Library Director and may act as a supervisor in the absence of the Director
Flexible schedule- days, nights and weekends; 17.5 hrs per week
EXPERIENCE:
Masters Degree in Library Science from an accredited institution
Two years of experience as a Youth Services Librarian and/or library experience
Computer and software skills, including Microsoft Suite
Experience supervising staff
Strong communications skills
Strong computer/technology skills
Ability to multi-task
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Tasks require the ability to exert light to moderate physical effort, which may
include some lifting, carrying, pushing, reaching, stooping and/or pulling of objects and materials of light to moderate weight. Tasks may involve extended periods of time typing on a keyboard or workstation. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
